When Oella Saw and Tool manufacture new knives for shaper collars (smooth and lockedge) we ask the diameter intended for use and set the back of the knife to the edge, We chamfer the back of the knife to maximize this take up...in essence we deliver a set that fills the entire channel. This set is intended to work with knives that fill the channel. Only lockedge knife stock should be used. In additon certain lengths and projections may not be appropriate to use with this collar. Always ask a professional when in doubt.

Lockedge collars should be used by experienced shaper operators. If you are new to shaping we'd ask you call us for more information. Collars are very productive yet pose hazards if used improperly or without care. Remember, your safety comes first!
